The Roots of Our Purpose (Since 1996)
Our story isn't just a business timeline; it is a family mission that began in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, long before "cold-pressed" was a trend. Before 1996, my grandfather operated a traditional bull-driven mill, rooted in the belief that the heart of a healthy home is pure oil.
My father took over this vision as a young man, evolving it from those humble beginnings into a wholesale leader known across the district. He is the living heartbeat of Annam Chekku, famous for working 365 days a year—treating this mill as his first family and ensuring that the tradition of quality never takes a holiday.

The Art of the Seed: Expertise You Can Feel
At Annam Chekku, we don't rely solely on modern sensors to judge quality; we rely on three generations of sensory expertise. My father and I can assess the purity and moisture of a seed simply by touch and smell—a skill that no machine can replicate.
We use Vaagai wood (East Indian Walnut) for our presses for a very specific logical reason: wood acts as a natural insulator. While modern steel machinery generates high friction heat that destroys nutrients, our wooden pestles keep the process cool. This ensures every drop of our oil retains the antioxidants, Vitamin E, and authentic nutty aroma that industrial refining strips away.

A New Era: From the Factory to Your Kitchen
In 2018, as the world began to rediscover the dangers of chemical-heavy refined oils, I saw a new opportunity. Leaving a career in the automobile industry, I returned to our roots to bridge the gap between our heritage and your modern kitchen.
We transitioned from wholesale to retail because we believe that oil isn’t bad for your health—bad oil is. By focusing on direct-to-consumer quality, we ensure:

  • 3-Generation Farmer Bonds: We still purchase seeds from the same farmer families my grandfather worked with, built on a shared moral responsibility.

  • Direct Sourcing: Dindigul’s fertile land produces the finest seeds in India; we don't just "source" them, we live among them.

  • Modern Purity: We have merged traditional "Slow-Crushed" methods with modern technology to meet the highest standards of safety and transparency.
